Gena Milanesi

Gena Milanesi is a Los Angeles-born, London-based self-taught multimedia artist whose work oscillates between abstraction and figuration, each complementing the other with a distinct feminine sensibility. Her practice embraces diverse materials, including charcoal, graphite, house paint, acrylic, oil paint, and oil stick, creating a bold dialogue between mediums. Through deliberate movements, Milanesi interrogates the very nature of mixed media, balancing spontaneity with calculated gestures.

Milanesi’s compositions embody opposing forces—bold strokes meet delicate marks, organic forms contrast with structured elements. Her intuitive process navigates a tension between maximalism and restraint, aggression and subtlety. Deeply attuned to the emotional spectrum of the human condition, her works explore internal contradictions and existential struggles. Milanesi studied MA at the Royal College of Art in London.
